The Public Works Department is staffed by 166 employees who provide a wide range of routine and specialized public health, safety and infrastructure services. Examples include street sweeping, road repair, sidewalk and curb repair, drainage retention area mowing, mosquito and aquatic control, electrical and air conditioning repair to government offices, residential garbage and yard trash collection, commercial garbage collection, recycle center drop-off collection, and equipment and maintenance services for the City's entire fleet.
The Department currently requires approximately $24 million dollars annually to operate and is funded through a combination of general fund and utility fund sources.
The Public Works Department is available to receive telephone calls Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
