Automated Meter Reading FAQs

Over the next 14 months the City will be working with Johnson Controls, Inc. and U S Bronco Services installing Automated Meter Reading (AMR) equipment. To better inform and answer questions regarding this new initiative, we have listed frequently asked questions regarding AMR.  If your particular inquiry is not addressed or you need additional information, please call our Customer Business Office at 629-8411.

Recently in some areas of Florida, scam artist are posing as electric workers. A Hollywood, Florida resident was literally in the dark when a scam artist posing as a Florida Power & Light (FPL) employee robbed him of $200.

 
Agriculture Sales Tax Exemption

For billing inquiries on Electric, Water and Sewer, Garbage, or Stormwater charges to your account, call: 629-CITY (2489) or toll-free outside the calling area at 1-800-893-4760 for the 24 hour information line.

To report an electrical outage call: 351-6666 (24-hours a day, seven days a week).

For questions about your trees in relation to utility lines or OEU's tree pruning program: call 351-6650.

To inquire about Water and Sewer, call: 351-6770 Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.- 5 p.m., Friday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. or call 351-6775 after hours.

To inquire about garbage collection call: 351-6697 Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

For information about the holiday schedule for garbage collection, call the Sanitation Hotline 351-6698 24-hours a day.
