The Mayor and City Council Members of Ocala

The City of Ocala is governed by the council-manager form of government. Voters elect a five-member city council and a mayor. The mayor serves a two-year term and council members serve four-year terms.

City Council Meeting Information

Council meetings are on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 4 p.m.

 Mayor Randy Ewers

Assuming the office of Mayor in December of 2005, Randy Ewers by trade is an industrial engineer "six sigma black belt" at the fire apparatus manufacturer Class 1.


Council President Reuben Kent Guinn

Reuben Kent Guinn represents District 4, which is located in the central eastern section of the City. He began serving his first four-year term in December of 1999.


Councilwoman Suzy Heinbockel

Councilwoman Mary S. Rich
