Ocala International Airport Control Tower
Control tower at Ocala International Airport soon to serve aviators.
The control tower at the Ocala International Airport is on schedule to be operational in October. When operational, the 91-foot high structure will improve safety and provide an added incentive for corporate aircraft to use the local airport.
The cost of the structure, which is being built by Edwards Construction Services Inc. of Ocala, is $2.43 million. The Florida Department of Transportation has provided $1.95 million and the city is providing the balance. Air traffic controllers will be funded by the Federal Aviation Administration.
