The division provides garbage dumpster service to more than 9,400 customers in the City including apartments, condominiums, commercial, and industrial businesses. The division collects more than 50,000 tons of solid waste annually. It is a requirement of the Code of the City of Ocala that all solid waste, excluding C&D and recyclable commodities, must be collected and disposed of exclusively by forces of the City of Ocala.

The division provides collection services Monday through Saturday between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. Service is affected by a limited holiday schedule, click on the link above, Rates and Schedule, for more information. Fees are subject to periodic adjustments to ensure adequate revenue collection.

The division offers a variety of dumpster sizes and service frequencies. The desired level of service will be mutually agreed to by the property owner and the Sanitation Manager. At a minimum, all solid waste must be collected one time per week, however, the Commercial Sanitation Division reserves the right to establish a service level which guarantees that solid waste will not accumulate outside of the container at any time. A table of dumpster sizes, collection frequencies and fees is listed in the Rates and Schedule section.

Anyone with questions about the dumpster collection services provided by the City of Ocala may telephone, fax or e-mail their questions according to the information listed above.
