The Land Development Division of the Engineering Department is responsible for the coordination of review of both site plans and subdivisions proposed within the city limits of Ocala. The chief responsibility of the Engineering Department is to oversee that the infrastructure is built according to city standards and good engineering practices are followed. This also involves reviewing annexation requests and promoting growth in an orderly fashion to prevent urban sprawl.
